• Manatees have been on the Endangered Species List since its inception in 1973. In 2006, an estimated 3,000 manatees existed, up from just 65 in 1980.
• In reality, there is no aquarium in Lubbock, TX. Incidentally, it takes about three hours to drive from Odessa to Lubbock, TX. It only takes about one hour to get from Odessa to Kermit, TX.
